Milan Linate nominated Best Airport in Europe
The contribution of Italpol Vigilanza to the recognition of “Europe Best Airport Award 2023”
The latest-generation security controls, among which are those of Italpol Vigilanza, the introduction of biometrics, and the restyling of spaces and projects related to environmental sustainability, have earned Milan Linate Airport the “Europe Best Airport Award 2023” in the category of airports between 5 to 10 million annual passengers.
The recognition was assigned by Airport Council International Europe, association that represents 500 airports of 55 European countries, during the annual conference that was held in Barcelona, Spain. The international jury recognized the important work regarding sustainability and decarbonization of the airport sector: the green way of reaching the terminal thanks to the Line 4 metro, choice of alternative gases (Saf and hydrogen) and Urban air mobility are in fact among the main objectives in which the Milan airport is investing. Milan Linate reached Level 4+ of the Airport Carbon Accreditation and is working toward the goal of Net zero emissions in 2030, 20 years earlier than the date required by the European airport sector.
Italpol Vigilanza, with its Sworn Guards, carries out protection and checks of people, bags, goods and airport vehicles at Milan Linate Airport, as well as safeguarding the structure and its aircrafts. Furthermore, the external areas of the airport are watched over by Italpol Vigilanza through the ENAC Control Tower.
